The 18th Royal Irish Regiment
being about to proceed to India, and there being on the Victoria Jail 3 Privates of that Regiment, Patrick Collins, Patrick Doyle, and James Hamilton, convicted of Robbery in February 1847%, and now under sentence of imprisonment for the term of
one
o year, the advisability of allowing these men to
their Regiment,
join
was submitted to the
consideration of the Council, and being, supported
by the
recommendation of the Honorable the General Commanding to have the
Major
unexpired term
of their sentence remitted, Hers Erealloney the Governor with the advice of the Council resolved that a Free Pardon be granted to them by special Proclamation, on condition of their being sent direct from the Prison to the Ship
